Vintage Riddell Kra-Lite TK2 Football Helmet Rare 1972 Minnesota Vikings Cracks

Very rare Minnesota Vikings Riddell Kra-Lite TK2 helmet from 1972, as shown by the ring date stamp inside the helmet above the ear hole. This was a Riddell lamp as described below, so this is an authentic game quality helmet and includes original and vintage paint and decals, as well as the most widely used football helmet face mask on the planet, the vintage Riddell 2-bar BD-9 facemask with matching date stamp from 1972. All of these were applied by RIDDell at the time of manufacture.

It is unfortunate that this helmet was broken in shipment to us. Because the Vikings helmets are so rare and valuable, we immediately sent it to be repaired by the best in the business, Helmet Hut. They glued the helmet together and then applied fiberglass on the inside of the helmet to ensure stability. One side will make a great display, while one side shows all the cracks. Again, the helmet has been glued and fiberglassed so it can be salvaged for display. If the helmet were not broken we would price it at $699.

This helmet has also been customized by adding the famous red tape with #10 above the ear holes as used by Vikings equipment managers for identification purposes, to closely replicate a helmet as worn by fan favorite and Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton.

About us- Many of our helmets are vintage from the 1960's and 1970's. We offer many helmets manufactured by Riddell which were destined to be actual game used NFL helmets but before they could be shipped out to the teams, these helmets were used to make very collectible lamps for retail sale. These helmets had the suspension removed and were then attached to a wooden base with additional lamp parts attached. We have removed these helmets from the lamp and installed a new suspension and padding into them and the result is a stunning and amazing vintage helmet for with vintage authentic team decals and Riddell 2-bar BD-9 facemasks.
