Vintage Riddell 1961 TK5 Kra-Lite Football Helmet Pittsburgh Steelers

Rare authentic original Riddell Kra-Lite TK5 helmet from 1961 as shown in the last photo by the date stamp in the top of the shell!

This amazing specimen also has an original thin mill Pittsburgh Steeler decal from the 1960s which we applied over the area of the helmet where very few remnants of an original Steelers decal remained. We simply finished removing the remaining parts of the old decal and replaced it with an authentic era, correct specimen that you see now.

We acquired this helmet from a collector, who claims that it is a Steelers game used helmet, but we have no proof of that. The helmet does include remnants of the number 42 decals both front and back, and the stripe is actually painted onto the shell. The numbers are also the correct size and font Steelers used during this era.

Helmet appears to be about a size 7. This amazing beauty also includes an original Riddell BT-5 single bar, face mask, original leather job pads, and padded chin strap as was worn beginning in the 1960s.

Riddell Kra-Lite helmets are a rare collectible in their own right. We have also included a four point low hook up chin strap to match the photo.

This is an incredibly beautiful helmet, and will make a great conversation piece!
