Vintage Game Used Riddell Kra-Lite II Football Helmet San Diego Chargers

Very rare San Diego Chargers game used Riddell Kra-Lite II football helmet, manufactured in 1968 as shown by the date tag inside the helmet. The original gray interior paint remains while the original white paint on the outside of the shell is evident as the later blue paint of the Chargers beginning in 1974 has worn away.

Both the “RIDDELL” and “KRA-LITE II” heat stamps on the rear of the helmet are double stamped which, although rare to find, is not unusual for helmets of the era which remained in service for several years.

This amazing specimen is a huge size 7 1/2, and includes appropriate thin original team issued Chargers lightning bolt decals, and also comes with an original authentic Schutt extra large green dot NJOP facemask.

#64 is written inside the helmet for player identification purposes, and most likely points to this helmet being used by Dave Costa who played defensive tackle for the team during this era.

This beauty is in attractive battle-scarred and used condition! This is truly a rare opportunity to own an important piece of NFL history!
