Riddell 1950s RT2 Football Helmet Blue Under Clear Shell Baltimore Colts Shula

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION!

Extremely rare, vintage and original Riddell RT2, nice large adult size 7 5/8 Football Helmet, from the mid 1950s, complete with original wrap around leather jaw pads, old school 6-strap suspension and leather crown pad, and iconic 32-hole venting in top of shell.

Original vintage 1950s Riddell RT navy blue paint applied to the inside of the clear shell suspension football helmet with white center stripe is customized to look exactly like the Colts wore in the 1954 and 1955 seasons. The number 25 was added in honor of Don Shula, who was a wide receiver for the colts at the time.

Since the helmet has not previously been drilled for a face mask, we determined not drill into it to add the signature Riddell one-bar mask that Shula wore on his helmet. We do have a mask available if you would like to apply the mask, or we can do it for anyone who purchases this amazing helmet.

Overall, the helmet is in pristine condition with no shell cracks and would make a great display piece for any Colts fan.

This beauty also has the original Riddell trademark heat stamped into the inside of the right rear side.

Please see pictures for condition. No cracks in this gorgeous shell, and this is one of the best RT2 clear shells we have ever seen for retaining its shape.

Navy blue paint under the shell looks great and still shows through beautifully! And of course the center ridge is painted appropriate white as the Colts wore for several years during the 1950s. See photos for reference.
