Riddell 1950s RT2 Football Helmet Black Under Clear Shell Vintage BT5 Facemask

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION!

This extremely rare vintage and original Riddell RT2, in nice adult size 6 7/8 Football Helmet, from the late 1950s, complete with original vintage snap-in leather jaw pads, and old school 6-strap suspension. Helmet has iconic 32-hole venting in top of shell. also comes with original and vintage single bar BT-5 facemask.

Based on shape and number of holes in the top of the shell, as well as consideration of the suspension and snap-in leather jaw pads, our best estimate would indicate this helmet was manufactured in the late 1950s.

This beauty is painted black under the clear shell with white painted center stripe and has the Riddell trademark under the clear shell on the right rear side. Teams which used this color combination include the Oakland Raiders during their inaugural season of 1960.

PLEASE NOTE: we are not claiming this helmet was issued or worn by the Raiders. Have you ever seen one exactly like this one? Will you ever see another?!
