Philadelphia Eagles Painted Wings RK2 Style Suspension Football Helmet Bednarik

RARE, one of a kind Riddell Classic RK2 helmet, of the Philadelphia Eagles. Riddell created these Kra-Lite RK2 helmets the same as worn by all the Eagles greats of the late 1950s to early 1960s.

This gorgeous specimen has been custom painted by painting the shell silver, then taping off the design of the wings on the silver shell, painting with Eagles Kelley green paint, then removing the tape, leaving the iconic Eagles silver wings. This is exactly how Riddell produced these helmets back in the 1960s. There are no decals on this helmet like all the other Eagles helmets you find on the market these days. This craftsmanship is tedious and demands careful attention to detail.

This helmet is also outfitted with a Schutt style “cowcatcher” OPO facemask as worn by All-Time Great and Hall of Famer, Chuck Bednarik early in his Eagles career. See photos of “Concrete Charlie”, the last of the NFL “iron men”, so named because they played both ways- offense as a center, and defense as a linebacker! To round out the package we have Bednarik’s #60 on the rear in appropriate style and font, authentic leather jaw pads, and soft cup gray and white ribbed chin strap. Absolutely amazing specimen!

Riddell Classic Kra-Lite RK2 helmet-

A classic step back in time! The classic shape of the Riddell RK's slightly flared shell and handsome metal rivets are complemented by the attachment of an original Riddell two bar facemask. These helmets are recently manufactured Riddell Pro-Line Authentic On Field helmets! The adult size 7 3/8 suspension webbing is identical to the original right down to the same brown thread that was used to stitch it together. Thin mil decals exactly as the originals, real leather jaw pads, gray toned strap and identical front style labeling makes this helmet indistinguishable from the original. They are painted gray inside just as the Riddell vintage originals from the 1960's, and also have the "KRA-LITE" and "RIDDell" trademarks branded into the rear of the helmet, unlike some other helmets you may find on the market these days which have neither. Do not settle for a substitute. Demand the real thing!
