Original Vintage RIDDell Kra-Lite RK2 Football Helmet Notre Dame Fighting Irish?

READ CAREFULLY- This is an authentic and original beautiful RIDDell RK2 suspension helmet from the early 1960s, with what appears to be the remnants of 3 stamped in ink on the inside of the shell. This would indicate the date of manufacture to be in 1963, the second year the RK2 was available. If this is an Irish gamer it is conceivable it would have been used several years and could have been part of the magical 1966 National Championship season!

Still attached with the original hardware is the original and vintage BD-9 facemask!

This helmet is over 60 years old and includes vintage original jaw pads!

The size is a rare large 7 1/2 as shown on the canvas strap!

This amazing specimen has its original suspension and has been repainted in Notre Dame gold many times as shown by the multiple layers of paint. While we can’t verify this is a Notre Dame gamer, the many layers of gold paint, including paint on the face mask sides, is consistent with the way Notre Dame painted their helmets using the student body to apply the paint every Friday before a home game!

Do to the many layers of paint you can no longer make out the famous RIDDell and KRA-LITE heat stamps but the remains of the original RIDDell RK2 sticker are in the rear of the helmet.
