Original Riddell TK2 Football Helmet Dallas Cowboys Authentic Color Pnt Staubach

Rare, original and authentic vintage full size Riddell TK2 Kra-Lite II football helmet which has been customized to replicate the helmet worn by All-Time NFL great and Hall of Famer, “Captain Comeback”, Roger Staubach throughout the first few years of his Cowboys career, which included the Cowboys’ first Super Bowl victory in 1971 over the Miami Dolphins.

Note we have attached an original authentic RIDDell 2-bar BD-9 Facemask from that year, just as “Roger the Dodger” would have worn in Super Bowl VI. Please see pictures for reference. Pictures are not included with purchase.

This helmet was manufactured during the early 1970s as shown by the date stamp above the earhole, and has been completely restored and rebuilt with close attention to detail. Please note that this is not a helmet which was formerly a lamp.

The paint on this helmet is as close to the actual color used by the Cowboys during the decade of the mid 1960s through the mid 1970s.

You will not find this paint on any other helmets available on the market these days unless you purchase an authentic original Cowboys TK, and that paint will have faded to a certain degree. The paint we used on this helmet has been specially created by color matching an area on an original Cowboys RIDDell RK2 shell which has not been exposed to sunlight or elements since it was manufactured and painted at the RIDDell factory in 1968.

As a Cowboys fan I have always desired to create this paint to match the game used Cowboys helmets of the 1960s and 1970s when America’s Team’s helmet shell colors matched their shiny blue-silver pants! We then had to find the correct paint, as most paints these days are not suited to this effort. We have spared no expense in creating this truly rare and historically correct collectible.

This beauty has also been outfitted with iconic full size Cowboys star decals with correct matching blue and white striping and the Cowboys' famous dymo tape with "Staubach" on the rear center stripe in appropriate blue color created by using a vintage Dymo-tape label maker and vintage original Dymo-tape. Here you have a truly unique and one of a kind rare collectible.

Helmet is an original Riddell Kra-Lite II TK2 suspension helmet with 12-spoke suspension, and is readily recognized by the fully rounded shell, accented by the handsome metal rivets.
