Original Riddell 1973 Wisconsin Badgers Kra-Lite TK2 Game Football Helmet

Vintage and original Wisconsin Badgers Riddell Kra-Lite TK2 game helmet from 1973 as shown by the date stamp above the ear hole. This amazing helmet comes with all you see including the Schutt style gray NOP facemask as used by many of the Badgers players during the early 1970s.

Also notice the “Riddell” and “Kra-Lite” heat stamped on the rear of the helmet! This is how you know it was done at RIDDell. See photos for reference only and not included with purchase.

This amazing and rare helmet is sporting iconic thin mil “large oval W” decals too! These are not the ticker decals you might purchase today, but were applied by Riddell when the helmet was manufactured.

This is a legitimate NCAA game helmet, although not used in a game. Please read further.

This helmet was removed from a RIDDell helmet lamp to make available for display. Riddell helmet lamps were manufactured between 1969 and 1973, and used actual game helmets which were manufactured by Riddell for the NFL and NCAA teams. These lamps were available by mail order through The Sears Wishbook. The NCAA teams were far and away the most rarely manufactured.

RIDDell helmet lamps were not manufactured until ordered. When ordered, RIDDell simply removed the suspension padding from the helmet which had been manufactured and ready to ship to the team for use, and then replaced the rivets before assembling the helmet into a lamp to ship out.

We then removed the helmet from the lamp and had the suspension restored to make this beautiful specimen game ready again! NCAA teams are extremely rare.
