Recently manufactured and authentic Riddell RT2 suspension helmet which has been personally signed in bold felt tip pen by possibly the greatest of all NFL players in history! Notice the RIDDell trademark stamped into the rear the helmet proving it is a rare item in its own right.

These RIDDell RT2 helmets bearing the “Riddell” stamping on the rear of the helmet are part of a very limited production run of RIDDell “On Field” quality helmets manufactured from only 2006-2007. While there may be a few of the generic helmets autographed by Mr. Baugh, there are not many of the officially licensed Riddell helmets which bear his signature. This is definitely for the discriminating buyer who only wants the best!

Slingin’ Sammy Baugh was a college All-American from TCU and then played for the Washington Redskins where he starred on both offense as a quarterback and defense as a safety as well as the league’s best punter! Not only did he lead the NFL in touchdown passes, but he also led the league in interceptions, and he held the NFL record for punting average from 1933 until this year!

Autograph COA is from Helmet Hut who obtained the signature when they were invited to Sam Baugh’s beautiful ranch tucked away deep deep deep in the heart of Texas. They sat with Mr. Baugh for several hours listening to stories of the NFL and his fond memories playing with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team!

Sammy Baugh has signed few things, but this helmet is the first time his autograph has adorned an authentic reproduction of his true battle attire. The “RT” helmet was the first plastic helmet worn by most pro teams and the first by Sammy Baugh.

Signing a helmet here; telling a story there, it did not last long enough for us. We learned a lot that day from a Pro Football HOF legend; how to be humble, gracious and always knowing where you came from.
