RK2 Style Football Helmet 1969 Washington Redskins Spear Cardinal Color Taylor

Recently manufactured RK2 style helmet, customized to represent the helmets worn by the Washington Redskins in 1969. This was accomplished by painting the helmet the proper shade of “Cardinal” which the Redskins used for only 1969, the 50 year anniversary of the NFL. See photos for reference.

The team wore the lighter Cardinal color for one year before changing to their yellow gold helmets for three seasons beginning in 1970. Prior to 1969 the Redskins used their darker “Plum” colored helmets.

This amazing specimen has been customized to represent the RIDDell RK helmet worn by one of the most popular of all the Redskins, Hall of Fame member Charley Taylor by adding his number 42 to the rear in correct size and font for the era.

Nice large shell helmet with size 7 3/8 suspension is a custom made true one-of-a-kind and includes all you see, sporting Redskins iconic “Spear” decals, and the most widely used facemask in history, the 2-bar quarterback facemask.

This helmet is also outfitted with authentic leather jaw pads! Don’t miss this one!

RK2 style helmets represent A classic step back in time! The classic shape of the RK's slightly flared shell and handsome metal rivets are complemented by the attachment of a two bar facemask.

The adult size 7 3/8 suspension webbing is identical to the original right down to the same brown thread that was used to stitch it together.

They are painted gray inside just as the vintage originals from the 1960's!
