Rawlings HND-9 Football Helmet Schutt Red Dot OPO Dallas Cowboys Tony Dorsett

Rare and original Vintage Rawlings HND-9 size 7 1/2 Football Helmet which has been customized to represent the helmet worn by NFL Hall of Famer and All-Time Cowboys great Tony Dorsett.

This is an original Vintage helmet, manufactured in August 1978 as shown by the date stamp on the rear left of the shell, and comes to us through an incredible warehouse find! This amazing helmet is new old stock, in other words it was never used!

And you will not find this paint on any other helmets available on the market these days unless you purchase an authentic original Cowboys Helmet from the 1970s, and that paint will have faded to a certain degree. The paint we used on this helmet has been specially created by color matching an area on an original Cowboys RIDDell RK2 shell which has not been exposed to sunlight or elements since it was manufactured and painted at the RIDDell factory in 1968. As a Cowboys fan I have always desired to create this paint to match the game used Cowboys helmets of the 1960s when America’s Team’s helmet shell colors matched their shiny blue-silver pants! We then had to find the correct paint, as most paints these days are not suited to this effort. We have spared no expense in creating this truly rare and historically correct collectible.

We have then added new never used old stock Rawlings jaw pads. Look at that bright white padding throughout the whole helmet!

And the same can be said for the vintage and original Schutt Red Dot OPO Facemask as well! This mask is new old stock and never used!

Dorsett was the most famous Cowboys player to wear Rawlings helmets, and only wore the HND-9 for much of his Cowboys career. See photo of Dorset for reference, not included with purchase. To round out the customization we also added the appropriate blue dymo tape with Dorsett’s name and placed it appropriately on the rear of the helmet on the center stripe.

Vintage helmet has all that you see including iconic decals and striping of the Cowboys. Will make a stunning display, and looks like it is ready the field!

Please note that we are not claiming this helmet was issued by the Cowboys or worn by Mr. Dorsett. This is rare item indeed, and is perfect for that Cowboys fan who has everything!
