Oakland Raiders RK Vintage 1963 Style Football Helmet Jim Otto

Recently manufactured RK2 style Football Helmet with thin mil decals and striping of the 1963 Oakland Raiders and customized to represent the helmet worn that year by All-Time great and Hall of Famer, “Mr. Raider” himself, Jim Otto.

The Raiders wore a couple of variations of decals during 1963, and based on several photos we have seen, this version is representative of one of those variations. See photos. We have also used the correct style and font numbers used but the team in 1963, and have included Mr. Otto’s name written on authentic athletic tape inside the helmet as equipment managers might have done for identification purposes. Helmet is built to represent the famous early 1960s configuration of the RK suspension helmet with iconic 12-spoke suspension, and has all that you see including 2-bar and vintage U-bar facemasks appropriately positioned as shown in photos for Otto during his career. The addition of this U-bar mask makes all the difference in the world.

RK helmets offer a classic step back in time! The classic shape of the RK's slightly flared shell and handsome metal rivets are complemented by the adult size 7 3/8 suspension webbing which is identical to the original right down to the same brown thread that was used to stitch it together and makes this helmet almost indistinguishable from the originals. They are also painted gray inside just as the Riddell vintage originals from the 1960's!
