Minnesota Vikings Painted Horns RK2 Style Suspension Football Helmet

RARE helmet, made to replicate the Minnesota Vikings Riddell Kra-Lite RK2 helmets as worn by all the Vikings greats of the 1960s.

This is a very unique, and most likely one of a kind item as the helmet was originally made for a television documentary about the Los Angeles Rams, and included many helmets made to resemble helmets worn by stars from different teams of that era. The helmets made for this documentary were created to look game used, and included custom facemasks, suspensions and jaw pads.

This gorgeous specimen has been custom painted with the Vikings’ iconic “Big Horns.” Notice how the horns sit near the top of the ear holes and near the front edge of the helmet, just as the Vikings horns were before the team transitioned to the smaller horn decals in the 1970s.

Photos are not included with purchase but are for reference only. Helmet comes with appropriate #10 written on red tape inside helmet above ear holes just as Vikings equipment managers might have done for identification purposes too!

RK helmets offer a classic step back in time! The classic shape of the RK's slightly flared shell and handsome metal rivets are complemented by the adult size 7 3/8 suspension webbing which is identical to the original right down to the same brown thread that was used to stitch it together and makes this helmet almost indistinguishable from the originals. They are also painted gray inside just as the Riddell vintage originals from the 1960's!
