John Mackey Baltimore Colts Vintage RIDDell RK2 Style Football Helmet

Football Helmet customized with decals and striping of the Baltimore Colts of the late 1960s- early 1970s, and customized to represent the helmet worn during most of his career by All-Time great and Hall of Famer, John Mackey. See photos of Mackey wearing his RIDDell RK. John Mackey was one of the first big men with speed who transformed the position of Tight End and forced defenses to cover him with a safety instead of a linebacker. This revolutionized the passing game as it was known then. Helmet is built by Historic Helmets to represent the famous 1960s configuration of the RK suspension helmet with the familiar and iconic flared ear shell and has been customized with thin mil iconic Colts “horseshoe” decals that are large and wide at the top as worn by the Colts during that era. Helmet also has 2-bar facemask, appropriately positioned as shown in photos for Mackey during his career. PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT CLAIMING THIS HELMET WAS ISSUED OR USED BY MR. Mackey OR THE COLTS. Please see photos for condition of helmet. Helmet is previously owned and only spent time on the shelf, so is in excellent condition. Helmet did have a wear bar but it was cut out when we received it. Will make a stunning display, and looks like it just came off the field!
