Riddell 1950s RT2 Vintage Football Helmet Rare Snap In Jaw Pads Type

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION!

Extremely rare, vintage and original Riddell RT2, in nice full size Football Helmet, from the early 1950s, complete with original old school 6-strap suspension and leather crown pad. Although there are no indications of size, our best guess is a size 7 as it fit me quite snugly and that is my hat size.

Helmet has iconic 6-hole venting in top of shell, and also comes with matching vintage leather jaw pads. This is one of the very rare later RT2 models as this version has snap in jaw pads instead of the wrap around leather.

This would be one of the last RT2 helmets produced by RIDDell prior to them moving on to the RK4 helmets. Helmet has had a facemask applied at some point prior to our owning it.

Based on shape and number of holes in the top of the shell, as well as consideration of the suspension, our best estimate would indicate this helmet was manufactured in the early 1950s.

This beauty is painted crimson maroon with white painted center stripe and has the Riddell trademark on the right rear side, as found on most RT2 helmets.
